Organic foods are those that are made without the addition of chemical substances such as preservatives or artificial flavors. The fine quality of organic products is far superior to that of the industrial products, both in color and flavor and nutrient concentration. The organic food involves a series of important benefits for human health, which compensates for sometimes a bit higher for this type of food price. The organic food includes traditional farm, and green products such as vegetables and crops in general, meat from animals reared and fattened without hormones, or by-products such as farm eggs. The difference is noticeable. Meat of chickens bred based on natural foods knows much better than of those animals that have been fed all his life with balanced foods and supplements for growth.
The eggs are larger, and the yolk, which concentrates all the proteins and nutrients, is much more intense in its color, almost an orange hue, against the pale yellow that hatchery eggs tend to have. The health benefits beyond improved nutrition. It is estimated that this type of food have between 40 and 60 per cent more concentration of vitamins than industrial products. Organic foods tend to cause fewer allergic reactions, rash, or intolerance. This is a fact, due to the non-existence of artificial chemicals ensures maximum tolerance.
Another aspect often little considered organic products is the packaging. Frequently, truly organic products are placed on the market, but whose packaging is far from being eco-friendly. New and improved technologies are being developed every day to replace this type of packing for other containers with less impact on the environment. An example are the containers produced with cellulose derived from cane sugar, rather than oil, non-renewable product by definition. The production of trays is currently studied in several universities in Europe based on the feathers of poultry, to replace the traditional ones, but harmful to the environment, trays of PET (expanded polystyrene). Organic food is gaining more and more, not only in markets, where consumers makers tend to prevail, but as a policy of State, aiming to simple to leave the planet as it we found it.
